SERVPRO of Benton, Jasper, Newton & Southern Lake Counties is a preferred provider for many insurance companies.
On June 28th each year, National Insurance Awareness Day encourages us to review our insurance policies.
In our line of business, insurance is very important to our customers. All too often we have customers that do not have appropriate insurance coverage for their loss.
Whereas insurance does not cover everything, it does help in the event of a disaster.
What can you do? Take this day to check your current policy. Talk to your agent. Evaluate your current possessions. Has your family situation changed? Do you need flood insurance?
Homeowners, renters, property, auto, umbrella, flood, life - there are so many different types of insurance out there and you need to evaluate which one is right for you and in what amount. Don't forget about your annual health insurance enrollment as well.
Take this time to review your coverage - you don't want to be under or over-insured. Talk to your agent. Maybe there is a better bundle to keep costs lower but provide the coverage you need. Don't get caught without appropriate coverage. Prepare for the worst, but hope for the best. Hopefully you will never need to use that insurance coverage, but in the event of a disaster, you don't want to take the chance with sub-par coverage.

Ultrasonic Cleaning 101
Restoration and Remediation Magazine has a great article we came across in the Contents Corner of the issue: Ultrasonic Cleaning 101.
"Ultrasonic cleaning is a very important part of contents restoration. Not only will ultrasonic cleaning increase your productivity as well as your profitability, it will greatly increase the items you will be able to restore and return to their pre-loss condition.
Without ultrasonic cleaning, there are simply items that would be virtually impossible from which to remove soot and odor.
That being said, there are dangers to using this type of cleaning method as you can damage or break items in the cleaning process. You need to make sure anyone using an ultrasonic machine in your company has been properly trained so they understand the cleaning process and how to operate the equipment.
The basic things that can go wrong will usually involve warping, breakage, cracking, delamination and color loss or bleeding. You can avoid these most of the time by following these simple steps.
It goes without saying any items you plan to use this cleaning method on should be tolerant of water submersion.
Here are some other tips." Read more
