Flooded Home in Jacksonville, Florida

This homeowner tried to ride out the storm when Hurricane Irma made landfall in Florida this fall but had to evacuate when waters rose to almost a foot. The water made the paneling in his home swell. All the doors warped. The carpet delaminated and started to smell. When the homeowner realized he couldn't handle the mitigation himself he called SERVPRO of Benton, Jasper, Newton and Southern Lake Counties. Two crews worked for several long days to remove all the wet building materials. The water sat for days before receding and wicked high into the building materials. All the flooring and walls had to be removed.
