Fire in Cedar Lake, Indiana
When building materials get wet after a fire they have to be torn out. This home had to be gutted after firefighters used hundreds of gallons of water to put out the flames. In the left photo, you can see the scene after firefighters left. The crew used moisture meters to determine which building materials got wet and would need to be torn out. The crew packed the salvageable contents before starting demolition. In the photo on the right, you can see the utility room after work was completed. The framing was left in place because it can be cleaned and dried.
