Fire Damage in Lake Village Indiana

A stray ember caused extensive damage to this home after it escaped the chimney and lit the insulation in the attic on fire. The homeowner was overseas on vacation and trusted SERVPRO of Benton, Jasper, Newton and Southern Lake Counties to prevent further damage from occurring. Our crews were onsite early on a Sunday morning to extract water, board up and stabilize the home. The pair of photos show the home the morning crews arrived as well as several days later after they finished removing all of the nonsalvageable building materials. A loss this size required several crews to make sure the structure and contents could be stabilized before secondary damage could occur.
