5/4/2022 (Permalink)
May 1st - 7th, 2022 is Hurricane Preparedness Week
Why Should Your Business Care About The Risk of Hurricanes?
Many coastal and inland areas are at risk for the impacts of hurricanes, high winds, and tropical storms. Not only should you be prepared for safety of your employees and customers, but also to protect your business and be able to get back to work more quickly.
What Should You Do?
- Identify your risk
- Develop a plan
- Take action
Identify Your Risk
Assess your current situation. Are you prepared? Are you able to mitigate your risk? Is a plan in place to safely return to business after a disaster?
Develop a Plan
After you have identified the risks and the impacts on your business, create a plan to help you reduce your risks. The plan should include what needs to be done and who will be in charge. A comprehensive crisis communication plan should include internal and external communication procedures and talking points for before, during, and after a disaster.
Take Action
Follow through with your plan and document your progress. Take note of what needs to be changed or updated.
